The Entertainment Ecosystems of Apple, Microsoft, Google and Amazon
Graham Spencer has done a brilliant job over at MacStories, charting the current state of entertainment ecosystems for the four biggest actors on the often talked about market(s). Very interesting reading, specially if you are one of the nincompoops who keeps burping a certain catch-phrase about a certain Cupertino-based company.
Whenever anyone says “Apple needs to do X in order to compete with Y”, I’ll just shove this link into their face from now on. I’m not sure if people realize just what it is to live in a country outside of the English-speaking territories, in regards to what services are available and on which devices. Apparently, it’s hard to understand that Microsoft and Google have piss-poor offerings outside of Apps (right now) and Amazon doesn’t register on the scale in anything except eBooks.
So please, step outside of the little US-centric world- view bubble and get an idea of how it is in the rest of the world, ok?
